Reader's Theater Back at Stagecrafters

The script-in-hand performances include "Glengarry Glen Ross".

Over the two weekends of July 13-15 and 20-22, will once again be hosting its  “Reader’s Theater” for the fifth year. This year, the signature summertime diversion will feature three full-length readings on stage by three groups of actors, “script in hand”.

The readings are set to take place Friday-Saturday-Sunday, July 13-14-15 and July 20-21-22, and the planned program will feature performances of:

  • Betrayed by Harold Pinter - "a classic love triangle about the shell game of suspicion and knowledge that is always part of infidelity", winner of the New York Drama Critics Circle Award in 1979. Directed by Barbara Mills. Friday, July 13 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 14, at 8 p.m.
  • Glengarry Glen Ross by David Mamet - "cutthroat real estate salesmen go head-to-head in a free-for-all to nail their share of the American Dream, intense dialog grippingly conveying their simmering rage and bitter frustration."  Tony Award for Best Play in 1984. Directed by David Flagg. Sunday, July 15, at 2 p.m. and Friday, July 20, at 8 p.m.
  • Extremities by William Mastrosimone - "a volatile mix of power, dominance, and retribution, in which a rape victim turns the tables on her attacker ... reaching a climax of fever pitch of suspense. Directed by Letta T. Brown. Saturday, July 21, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 22 at 8 p.m.

No reservations are being taken for the performances, as seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost is pay-what-you-will. The doors for each performance open 30 minutes before the curtain.
