Mt. Airy Readies for First Street Fare

Parts of Germantown Avenue will close Thursday for a night of food, music and fun.

After months of planning, the Mt. Airy Street Fare is set to go Thursday night from 6-10:30 p.m.

More than 40 food trucks will line Germantown Avenue while the "Fare" is happening causing portions of the road to close.

Police will close Germantown Avenue between Sedgwick Street and W. Mt. Airy Avenue throughout the duration of the "Fare."

The 23 bus will be detoured around the fair, more information about that can be found by clicking here.

Organizers recommend walking to the fair or taking the train.  Limited valet parking will be available at the Valley Green Bank for $10 per car on a first come first serve basis.

As mentioned earlier, there will be over 45 food vendors at the fair including your favorite local eateries as well as food trucks from all over the city.

The event is being organized and run by Mt. Airy USA who wanted to capitalize on the popularity of the Philadelphia Night Market that's come into town the previous tow years.
