Mt. Airy Art Garage Hosting Women's Weekend

Mt. Airy Art Garage will hold a weekend celebration on honor of International Women's Day from March 8-10

The following is a press release.

The Mt. Airy Art Garage (MAAG), a creative center for emerging and professional artists in Northwest Philadelphia, invites you to join us for a weekend celebration of International Women’s Day and women in the arts from March 8-10, 2013 at 11 West Mt Airy Ave (19119).

For over 100 years, International Women’s Day has been a beacon of respect, appreciation, and love towards women. Yet, the day also serves as a reminder of the economic, political, and social strides made by women throughout history and the challenges they still face. This year, over a three-day span, MAAG will honor the artistic contributions of women artists to our society. The weekend will feature a wide-array of local and citywide female talent — choirs, poets, spoken word artists, musicians, filmmakers, dancers, actors, painters, media gurus, and more.
