The Laramie Project

Matthew Shepard was 21. Matthew Shepard was a college student at the University of Wyoming. Matthew Shepard was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Matthew Shepard was beaten and left for dead, tied to a fence on the high prairie outside Laramie one cold October night. Matthew Shepard was gay. Matthew Shepard was.

Please join us for a reading of THE LARAMIE PROJECT, a play conceived and created by Moisés Kaufman and member...s of the Tectonic Theater Project, who made six trips to Laramie in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the two young men accused of killing Matthew Shepard. Using material from more than 200 interviews conducted with the people of the town, they have constructed a deeply moving theatrical experience based on these interviews and their own experiences.
