The SCH Academy community invites you to join us on  Saturday, May 19th from 11:30 am-3:00 pm for SCHindig, the sure-to-be-favorite family event of the spring.

Invite your friends. SCHindig is free and open to the entire community!

Proceeds from the event will support SCH Academy's fantastic Outdoor Program for boys and girls.

Activities include:

TALENT SHOWCASE (1-2 pm): Witness the extraordinary talent within our student community.

SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE (2-3 pm):  Rock out at a family-friendly concert by local Philly rapper Tayyib Ali.

BURGER BRAWL (All day): Sample burger creations by local celebrity chefs, including four-star chef David Jansen, and vote on the best recipe!

COMMUNITY PATCH (All day): Visit our booths and learn about the many resources and opportunities within our community.

CARNIVAL (All day): Enjoy moon bounces, toss games, a giant inflatable slide, festive foods & more!

SPORTS EQUIPMENT COLLECTION (All day):
Bring your used sports equipment to donate to the Philadelphia Youth Organization. (PYO especially needs gently used soccer cleats, baseball gloves, shin guards, basketballs, soccer balls, and lacrosse sticks.)

SHOE COLLECTION (All day): Swing by the student Eco Club "Reduce your FOOTprint" table and support their shoe recycling effort. Bring along a pair of shoes to donate and you will receive a flower, herb or veggie seedling. Donated shoes will go to Shoe Box Recycling, an organization that sends the shoes to areas in need around the world and work with residents to set up micro-businesses to resell the shoes at local markets. The Eco Club receives .50 cents per pound of shoes collected and the money raised will go toward purchasing a handicapped accessible raised garden bed that the students will construct at the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

SCHindig is sponsored by the student governments and parents associations of both campuses.
