Moonlight & Roses has helped to build and maintain the Morris Arboretum’s outstanding living collections and unique gardens. Funds raised through the 2012 gala will directly support the Arboretum’s operations and programming, as well as exciting interior renovations of the historic George D. Widener Education & Visitor Center. These funds will help ensure that we are able to comfortably welcome the more than 120,000 visitors who come annually.
This year marks the 125th anniversary of the land purchase for Compton – John and Lydia Morris’ estate that would become the Morris Arboretum. This year at Moonlight & Roses, a chalk outline of the mansion along with photos of Compton’s interior will be on display for guests to “walk through” the estate and imagine life during the late 1800s. This display will be at the top of the hill at the Two Lines sculpture, which marks the spot where Compton stood.
Benefactors, Patrons and guests with special needs will receive premium parking passes for valet parking at the Widener Visitors Center. All other guests will valet park at the entry kiosk and will be shuttled up by trolleys to the event.
Tickets range from $100 - $600
