Decorating holiday wreaths, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, hot apple cider, a winter woods hike & lunch at Valley Green Inn.
Celebrate the winter holidays with the Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) at Valley Green Inn with Winter in the Wissahickon on Saturday, December 3, 2011, from noon to 4 p.m. Enjoy chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack-Frost nipping at your nose, and creating your own holiday wreath.
At Winter in the Wissahickon, a family of four can create their own wreath and enjoy roasted chestnuts, warm apple cider, and a light lunch at Valley Green Inn, all for $75. FOW will have experts on hand to help you design your wreath, as well as a supply of holiday decorations to make it, such as western juniper with blue berries, incense-cedar with yellow tips, holly with red berries, and assorted white pine cones.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for children, with a special family package of $75 for two adults and two children. Price includes one wreath per adult or family and all food and beverages. This is a rain or shine event; tickets are limited. Valley Green Inn is located on Forbidden Drive in Wissahickon Valley Park.
