A New 'Nutcracker'

An exciting new version of “The Nutcracker” ballet set in late 19th century Philadelphia will be staged by the Philadelphia Dance Theatre on Nov. 25 and 26 in the Kurtz Performing Arts Center at the William Penn Charter School, 3000 W. School House Lane in Germantown. The production, which will feature authentic period streetscapes, storefronts and homes from Germantown, Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill as backdrops, will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, and at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26. Ticket information is available at www.philadancetheatre.org.
