Youngblood Offering Free Flu Shots

If you haven't gotten a flu shot yet, Jan 18 might be your time.

State Rep. Rosita C. Youngblood, is providing free flu shots from her office on  Friday, Jan. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Youngblood said that with the Pennsylvania Department of Health characterizing this year’s flu as "widespread" – the agency’s highest tracking category – everyone should avail themselves of the opportunity to get a flu shot.

"We are at the stage where flu season peaks," Youngblood said. "In the current flu cycle, nearly 1,000 people have been hospitalized and 22 have died. Don’t be one of those statistics."

Light refreshments will also be provided during the free flu shot event, which will take place at Youngblood’s new constituent service office at 310 W. Chelten Ave.

"I am pleased to offer this free health care service, because we all know the proven value of preventive medicine," Youngblood said. "I strongly encourage anyone who hasn’t been able to afford or obtain a flu shot to stop by my office. We’re rolling up our sleeves so that you can roll up yours. We look forward to seeing you on Jan. 18."

Youngblood said anyone wishing to obtain more information on the flu shots event, or on any state-related issue, should contact her at (215) 849-6426.
