Week Ahead: Movies, Music and Meetings in Chestnut Hill

Here's a quick look at what's going on around town in Chestnut Hill.

Here's a rundown of this week's happenings.

Movie Screening:
The Chestnut Hill Center for Enrichment will host a screening of the Academy Award winning film "Argo" on Tuesday, July 23, at 1 p.m.  The screening comes complete with air conditioning, an high definition television and snacks.  (Editor's note: I like this move, but it wouldn't have won my best picture Oscar last year.  I'm a homer and would've picked "Silver Linings Playbook.")

Concert at Pastorious Park: As has been happening throughout the summer, there will be a concert Wednesday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m. at Pastorious Park in Chestnut Hill.  This week's featured act is Phyllis Chapell and Siora

Israeli Folk Dancing: From the organizers: "The Germantown Jewish Centre Israeli dance group meets on Wednesday nights from 7- 9 PM from July 24-August 28. Their repertoire consists mainly of intermediate dances, though we always begin with easier, older dances.  There is an emphasis on instruction and review in the earlier part of the session.  We are an informal, friendly group, and always welcome new dancers!  $5 per session.  For more info contactprogram@germantownjewishcentre.org or 215-844-1507 Ext 19."

Community Association: The Chestnut Hill Community Association will hold its monthly board of directors meeting on Thursday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Chestnut Hill branch of the Free Library.
