Week Ahead: Library to Screen Movie, Park to Host Concert

Here's a look at what's going on around town in the upcoming week.

Munchies and a Movie-Head on down to the Chestnut Hill Branch of the Free Library for a screening of the Peter O'Toole movie "My Favorite Year" On Tuesday, July 9, at 1 p.m.  The movie features sword fighting, mob boss, comedy writers and an absurdly large hat.  The screening and air conditioning are free.  (Editor's Note: This is one of my favorite movies.)

Free Concert
- Wednesday means another free concert in Pastorius Park in Chestnut Hill.  This week's featured act is Aaron and The Spell.  The concert kicks off at 7:30 p.m., and it is free and open to everybody.

Staged Reading
- Stagecrafters will host a staged reading of the play "The Church Bells All Were Broken" on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night this week.  The play features "biting satire" of the family that started the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas.  The performances on Friday and Saturday will begin at 8 p.m., and the Sunday performance will start at 2 p.m.  All shows will feature a question and answer period after the performance.  Admission is "pay what you will," and reservations are accepted.
