It's a holiday week with Fourth of July falling on a Thursday giving a lot of people a much deserved four day weekend and a mini summer vacation.
Here are some things going on this week that sound exciting or interesting or of some importance.
Last Day for Tax Credits- Monday is the last day local businesses can apply for a state tax credit that would donate money to local school programs. If you're interested in the program and want to apply last minute please contact Mt. Airy USA.
Diners, Drive-ins and Dives- It's certainly been covered extensively here, but the Food Network show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" will feature Mt. Airy's GeeChee Girl Rice Cafe on Monday, July 1 at 10 p.m. In celebration, GeeChee Girl will be having a viewing party/picnic on Monday. Reservations are recommended, and all proceeds will benefit charity.
Concert in Pastorius Park- The Chestnut Hill Community Association's summer concert series in Pastorius Park continues this Wednesday with The Dukes of Destiny. The concert is free and open to the public, and it starts at 7:30 p.m. If it rains, the concert will be moved to Springside Chestnut Hill Academy
Fireworks- It being Fourth of July and all, there will be fireworks at the Philadelphia Art Museum at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday
