Volunteers Needed for Mt. Airy Day

Organizers still need volunteers of all sorts for the event scheduled for May 4.

Organizers of Mt. Airy Day still need volunteers to help make the event run.  Whether that's working a booth or selling raffle tickets, organizers have something for you to do.

The 43rd Annual Mt. Airy Day is scheduled for May 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cliveden of the National Trust at 6400 Germantown Avenue, Phila., PA 19119

Here's what organizer Michelle Brown-Nevers sent out in an e-mail this week:

Although the committee is working hard on Mt Airy Day, we can always use more help. Once all the contacts are made with sponsors, vendors etc., there are always follow up calls to make, raffle tickets to sell, the distribution of posters and yard signs and more.

We provide food for the volunteers. We also give service hours for students who need them. What better way to get service hours than to work at a community fair? Service hour letters are given out at the end of each students shift.

This year we will again have the popular ponies, crafts and games for the kids as well as Zoo on Wheels. Funnel cake will be back this year. There will be two stages for your enjoyment; Common Grounds coffee shop will be scheduling the 2nd stage.

Of course tables will be set up for you to get information about our local schools, churches and businesses, as well as items for you to purchase. Weavers Way will again be selling a great selection of plants and flowers at the Carriage House.

Is there something you would like to see at Mt Airy Day? Let us know.
