How did you end up partnering with Neil Campbell?

We worked for eight years together at Campbell's Race Street Cafe. He was my boss. But we were friends for years before that and we always wanted to do something together.

Why Mt. Airy?

I grew up in Glenside and the old Goat Hollow was close enough to come meet my parents. Neil [Campbell] also lives up the street from here and he's been in the neighborhood for awhile. He would keep passing this empty building and we knew it was a great spot to open up this place. We love this neighborhood.

Why did you stick with 'Goat Hollow' as the name?

We had overwhelming encouragement from the neighbors here to keep the name. It's funny, when we were petitioning around the neighborhood of what we were going to do with the place, we stopped by one house and it turned out to be the owner of the original Goat Hollow and he loved what we were doing.

What's Next: Goat Hollow will be playing around with more vegan and vegetarian options on its menu. Currently, they already have a couple of options including the vegan burger and grilled vegetarian lasagna.

Plug: Goat Hollow offers 22 draft lines, all craft beers, including some hard-to-get craft brews. In addition, they offer an $8 Bloody Mary bar. Patrons will receive a glass of vodka and ice and will be able to choose from three different types of Bloody Mary mixes—traditional, chipotle, and Old Bay. More than a dozen garnishes are displayed to put into your Bloody Mary, including bacon strips, hot sauces, pickled green beans, and more.
