Meet Chestnut Hill-Mt. Airy’s Cutest Couple

After a week of voting, the results are in and Melissa and Michelle were picked as Chestnut Hill-Mt. Airy’s cutest couple.

Q: How did you meet each other?

A: “We first met eight years ago while completing or Bachelor degrees at Albright College in Reading,” Melissa said in an email. “As two literary nerds with a love for the arts, it was history. Since then, we’ve been through quite a bit, including surviving simultaneous Master degrees in English.”

Q: How are you connected to the area?

A: “We both work in or around Mt. Airy, the place we love to call home,” she said. “Michelle is the staff manager at Queenie’s Pets LCC, a local pet-sitting and dog walking company. [I’m] an English adjunct professor at Arcadia University where I teach basic courses as well as electives revolving around the graphic novel, counterculture, and arts and social change.”

“We’ve lived together in Mt. Airy for the last five years,” she said. “Michelle was born and raised here. After we finished our studies abroad, it just seemed like a logical choice to return to Michelle’s communal roots.”

“There’s just something lovely about Mt. Airy,” she said. “It has it has that “small town” feel in a big city. Perhaps it’s the deep sense of community here, the diversity that exists within it, or the simple beauty the lines each sidewalk. Whatever it is, it feels like home and we’re grateful to live, laugh, and love here.”
