- Where: Morris Arboretum
- Why Go: Walk for Wishes is a fundraising and awareness event for Make A Wish that helps make local children's wishes come true. Come enjoy a less than 2 mile walk help support these kids who have life threatening medical conditions. Stay after and enjoy the Arboretum for the day.
- Cost: $15 adult
Trick & Healthy Treat Family Fun Run/Walk
- When: Saturday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m
- Where: Wissahickon Valley Park, Northwestern Avenue & Forbidden Drive
- Why Go: A nearly one mile round trip run/walk for families to exercise and enjoy beautiful Fairmount Park. Course begins and ends at Northwestern Ave and Forbidden Drive.
- Cost: $5 per person or $20 per family of 4 or more.

- Where: Wissahickon Valley Park, Northwestern Avenue & Forbidden Drive
- Why Go: After the Trick & Healthy Treat Family Fun Run/Walk, come by Forbidden Drive (near Northwestern Avenue) for an annual celebration of autumn. We're going to make fresh apple cider using an old-fashioned cider press. No registration necessary. All ages welcome. Rain or Shine.

- Why Go: Come out and enjoy an afternoon of food, music and fun in the store and on the back lawn at Weavers Way Chestnut Hill. Sample free food from vendors like One Village, Swiss Villa, Equal Exchange coffee, Bobbie’s Hummus, and Powell and Mahoney, plus bakeries like Queens Kitchen and the gluten-free Little Bakery, and ice cream from Little Baby’s and Zsa’s Gourmet Ice Cream. There will also be demos by Pearls of Nature, a local company selling local body oils and salt scrubs.

- Why Go: Quintessence Theatre Group opens its third season with Shakespeare’s tragedy Othello. Post show discussions with the cast and director will take place on Thursday, October 18 and Sunday, October 28.
- Cost: $30 general admission. $20 senior tickets (65 and over) and $15 youth tickets (25 and under).
Green Street Friends Fall Fair
- When: Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Where: Greene Street Friends School 5511 Greene St, Philadelphia, 19144
- Why Go: Bring the family and enjoy a haunted house, games, prizes, pumpkins and mums, great food and live music. Also, a special appearance by WXPN Kids Corner’s Kathy O’Connell. Get your holiday shopping started early and browse work by local artists and crafters including handmade baby items, paper crafts, mosaics, woodwork and more.
