Get Out: Friday Night Jazz, Summer Camp Fair and More

Friday Night Jazz: Ella and Ellington

  • When: Friday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m.
  • Where: Woodmere Art Museum 9201 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia
  • Why Go:Vocalist Tonya Lynette, pianist Jim Holton, and the Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble focus on the music of two of America’s great jazz artists: Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. The performance will explore Fitzgerald’s songbook and bring Ellington’s signature keyboard wizardry and compositional genius to light.

Five Fridays Concert Series

  • When: Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Where: St. Paul's Episcopal Church 22 E Chestnut Hill Ave, Philadelphia
  • Why Go: The third concert in this recital series features Kristin Lee on violin, Lionel Cottet on cello and Michael Mizrahi on piano.  It takes place in Saint Paul’s parish hall. Each Five Fridays concert includes a wine reception and chance to greet the artists. All proceeds benefit Face-to-Face Germantown and the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Northwest Philadelphia.

SCH Academy's 22nd Annual Camp & Summer Program Fair

  • When:  Saturday, Feb. 2 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Where: Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 500 W Willow Grove Ave, Philadelphia
  • Why Go: Check out the largest camp fair in Philadelphia.  Showcasing  nearly 100 camps and summer programs for every interest and age (from 4-18) from around the area and region as well as national and international programs.  Cafe and kids' entertainment available.
  • Cost: Free

  • Where: The Stagecrafters Theater, 8130 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia
  • Why Go: Opening this weekend and running through February 17.  Thursday, Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.
  • Cost: Tickets: $17 Online / $20 at Door / Thurs 2-for-$25

Family Fun Workshops: Fairy Tales and Magic

  • When: Saturday, Feb. 2 at 12:30 p.m.
  • Where: Woodmere Art Museum 9201 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia
  • Why Go: Come out and read and make art inspired by some of our favorite fairy tales. Each Saturday is a new fun activity for the whole family. A parent must accompany children. Perfect for budding artists and their families, ages 4–10. Advanced registration suggested.  This week: Three Little Pigs
