EMAN Grinds 180 Trees in Recycle Event

The East Mt. Airy Neighbors made about $700 from their Christmas tree recycling event in January.

So just how man trees can one neighborhood group recycle in a given day?

If you are the East Mt. Airy Neighbors and the day is the 2013 Christmas tree recycling event, the answer is "just under 200."

EMAN reportedly recycled about 180 trees at their recycling event early in January, "saving 180 trees from going to the dump," according to the board.

The community group netted about $700 from the event. The mulch created from the recycled trees went into commiunity gardens around the Mt. Airy area.

2013 marked EMAN's second year holding the tree-recycling event. According to reports from the board, its second year was more successful than its first.
