95th Annual Chestnut Hill Bocce Club Fourth of July Celebration

Free, family-friendly event is a Northwest Philadelphia tradition.

The 95th Annual Chestnut Hill Bocce Club Fourth of July Celebration will take place this Monday.  The event offers local families a free, day-time alternative to night time firework displays.

This Northwest Philadelphia tradition begins with a children's parade at 9:00am.  In order to accommodate the smaller participants, the parade starts outside of the Bocce Club at 118 East Hartwell Lane and ends just a block away at the Water Tower Recreation Center.  For those interested in walking in the parade, it's best to arrive by 8:30am.  Children are encouraged to decorate their bikes, trikes, scooters, wagons, and selves.

The parade is followed by an outdoor festival that begins at 10:00am.  Pony rides, face painting, balloon animals, bouncy slide, bouncy castle, petting zoo, and an assortment of games are provided on the recreation center's fields.  Hotdogs, lemonade, and ice cream are served at noon on the front lawn.
