Harry Potter and the Art of Empowerment

We all know the story of Harry Potter - an abused young boy discovers that he is a powerful wizard and together with his friends, faces a series of challenges that culminate in his emergence as a true hero. This extraordinary text contains some remarkable metaphors for facing adversity, accessing one's power and transcending the traumas of one's past.

This interactive, 7-part workshop uses themes from J.K. Rowling's series to promote self-actualization through creative engagement with the text. Each week, the group will examine a specific element of the story, reflect on its personal relevance and complete an art project that corresponds with the theme.
