Dogs on the Hill

We're starting an new blog called "Dogs on the Hill" to highlight local canines and advocate for humane treatment of dogs. Here's our first "Dog of the Week".

We are writing this blog because we love dogs and want others too as well. We both have pit bulls named Calvin and Clarke.  We want everyone to know that dogs are awesome animals. A lot of people treat dogs poorly which is not right. We believe that harming dogs is a crime. Dogs come in many shapes and sizes: some have problems some don’t. Some dogs are mean, some dogs are nice. However they look, whatever their personality is, it doesn’t matter.  You should never mistreat them!

Every week we will be doing a dog of the week. We will go into Chestnut Hill searching for dogs to interview. We will ask the owner questions like “whats hisher  name ? And how old is heshe?”, and also if we can take a picture. Our 1st dog is Shira. She is a 13 year old Siberian Husky. Shira is tan colored with blue/gray eyes. Her owner Tracy adopted Shira from a neighbor when the dog was two years old. Shira’s hobby is walking around Chestnut Hill and she enjoys playing with her local dog friends. Fun facts about Shira: for her birthday in November she had a lamb chop for dinner and for Christmas she had turkey – dark meat is her favorite!.

Fact of the Week: Siberian Huskies originated in Siberia and were brought to Alaska in 1909.
