tower bell music
The large bells of the carillon at the corner of Germantown Ave and High Street will sing out in recital on Mondays evenings for 3 weeks this summer. The closing recital will be played by Dick van Dijk from Utrecht, The Netherlands. As a trained organist and carillonneur, he has played recitals on many historic instruments. His recital program includes both classical and popular music. The best listening spots are in the garden of Wyck, across Germantown Avenue from the church. You may want to bring lawnchair or blanket. A tour of the bell tower (playing cabin and bell chamber) will be offered after the recital. A freewill offering will be received.
