Wingstop Opening in Mt. Airy

The restaurant will open at the old post office on Germantown Avenue.

Mt.Airy is getting a new chicken wing restaurant.

Wingstop, a Texas-based chicken restaurant announced that it will be opening two locations in Philadelphia, including one in Mt. Airy, in "early 2013," according to a release from the company.

The restaurant will be opening at 6700 Germantown Avenue, in the former U.S. Post Office building in West Mt. Airy.

Philadelphia native Richard Johnson of Jomartt Enterprises, L.P. Johnson signed a multi-unit development agreement earlier this year for eight new restaurants in the area, the release states.

“Philly is an exciting, growing market for the Wingstop brand and I am excited to be a part of it,” he said in a release. “Growing up in Philly, I know the city craves good food and I can’t wait to introduce the communities of Roxborough, Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill, Germantown … [to our food]."
