What You Need to Know For Mt. Airy Day

The festival is at Cliveden.

The 42nd annual Mt. Airy Day is coming up Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's one of the neighborhood's largest annual festivals, and will take up pretty much all of Cliveden's facility at 6401 Germantown Ave. (as well as a block of Germantown north of Johnson Street).

Here's what you need to know before the festival this year:

Two stages: For the first time ever, there will be two places of musical and poetic entertainment during the day. Wired Beans Cafe is helping put together acts on one of those stages.

There will be poets, dancers, musicians and cheerleaders, as well as other acts.

New food: There will be food trucks at Mt. Airy Day this year, instead of the regular funnel cake and hamburger crowd. Pitruco Pizza, Zea Mays Native American Food Truck and others will be there as well.

Kid Zone: The area will feature, according to the Mt. Airy Day website, "pony rides, games, a moon bounce, giant slide, obstacle course, face painting, arts & crafts, and much more."

Vendors: There's no telling who exactly will have tables set up at Mt. Airy Day, but we can tell you that a lot of local businesses will likely have presences there. Mt. Airy Patch will have a table, and we'd love for you to stop by and try to win some pens, a T-shirt or a temporary tattoo.

Parking: There should be spots available surrounding the facility on the street, although you may have to walk some distance to get to Cliveden from your car, since there won't be specific parking right at the festival. Valet bike parking will be available in front of the Caring Heart Rehab and Nursing Center at 6445 Germantown Ave.

In case of rain: We're one of the places you can look to see if Mt. Airy Day is still on if it's raining Saturday. If the show is washed out, it will be made up Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
