While government and school offices are closed Monday in observance of Columbus Day, several area businesses are remaining open for the day.

• Pathmark, Acme, Super Fresh and Shop Rite grocery stores in the Northwest are open for business. Both Weavers Way locations in Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy are also open.

• CVS and Rite Aid pharmacies in the Northwest are open.

• SEPTA bus and train lines are operating on normal weekday schedules, according to the transportation service's website.

• 7-11 and Wawa convenience stores in the Northwest are open.

• Winnie's LeBus, JD McGillicuddy's the Perogi Kitchen and the RowZone in Manayunk are all open.
