What's Closed on the Fourth of July?

A look at what won't be open.

A variety of different things will be closed today because of the Fourth of July.

City offices will be closed. Because of that, trash and recycling pickup will be pushed back one day throughout the week.

Libraries throughout Philadelphia—including the Lovett library branch—won't be open.

SEPTA Chestnut Hill East trains will run on a weekend schedule, while Chestnut Hill West trains will operate on a Sunday schedule. There will be additional trains, though, because of Center City fireworks. To read more about that, click here.

Post offices across the country will be closed. That includes the Mt. Airy post office on Germantown Avenue.

Weavers Way will be closed, as will a variety of other stores. We have a list of grocery store hours throughout the region up on the site.

Banks throughout the area—and across the country—will mostly be closed.
