Waggle Dance Coming to Awbury
The event will afford people a chance to explore the facilities.
Awbury Arboretum will hold its first ever Waggle Dance on Friday, and it will involve beekeepers, music and honey.
The dance is intended to be a celebration of beekeeping of sorts. Green Sanctuary Community Apiary, home to four educational hives and about 200,000 honey bees, is being celebrated at the event.
The event is $15 per person (tables of six can be reserved for $50; children get in for $5) and is on the Awbury grounds at 1 Awbury Road from 6 to 10 p.m.
Gypsy Jazz will perform. The event is called a waggle dance in honor of some of the waggle-like moves bees make as they communicate information to their compatriots.
You can RSVP to 215-849-2855 x25 or contact@awbury.org.
