Various Pop-Up Shops Coming to Mt. Airy in the Next Month
The shops will be in the Green on Greene building.
Philly Electric Wheels left its permanent space in the Green on Greene building at the southeast corner of Carpenter Lane and Greene Street last year, but the corner spot has remained busy. There have been Zumba classes; an artist in residence has also taken time there to work and to give workshops.
There have also been a variety of pop-up shops that have passed through, and there are several coming to Green on Greene in the coming month. Here's a list of some of them.
Collected Collage, the Pop-Up! Nov 18-20 and Dec. 15-23: Michele Longo produces a '70s-inspired pop up shop in which you can enjoy vintage clothes, collectibles, jewelry and other items.
Saffron & Friends Pop-Up Boutique, Nov. 26-27: Neighbor Devin McNutt will feature her own jewelry and local artists like John Jones, whose work in glass is influenced by training in both art and architecture, will also showcase their work. There will be a selection of children’s clothing, handmade soaps and vintage items.
Manayunk Pottery, Dec. 2-4: The fine art pottery center presents work by faculty and students for show and for sale. An opening reception is Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., while the space will be open Saturday and Sundy from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be demonstrations of throwing on the potters wheel; children will have the opportunity to take part in clay ornament making. Sunday will feature hand-building with clay demonstrations and more ornamenting for children.
