Train Accident at Chestnut Hill West Causes Minor Injuries

According to a SEPTA spokeswoman, the accident is still under investigation.

A regional rail train coming into Chestnut Hill West station Friday evening hit the safety bumper when it did not come to a complete stop, according to SEPTA spokewoman Heather Redfern.

Redfern said the accident, which happened around 4:30 p.m., was still under investigation to find out why the train did not properly stop, but that five people were taken to Chestnut Hill Hospital with only minor injuries.

One of the five people injured was the train's conductor, Redfern said.
