Top Five August Stories in Chestnut Hill
A look back at the stories that caught our readers' eyes last month in Chestnut Hill.
August is a big month for vacations, and that shows in a lot of respects here in Chestnut Hill. A few businesses have talked about the slower weeks they have in late summer. Burglaries spiked a bit this month as well.
As all this is going on, here are the top five stories read in Chestnut Hill Patch over the month of August:
5. Suspects in Custody for Delphine Robbery
When Delphine Gallery was robbed at gunpoint, the police were quick to identify the vehicle used in fleeing the scene. A few days later, police were able to make a vehicle stop and apprehend several suspects in the Delphine robbery incident.
4. Blotter: Tavern on the Hill Reports Stolen Meat
While police blotters are usually one of the most-read stories on Chestnut Hill Patch, this particular week's edition saw a $200 box of frozen meat being lifted from Tavern on the Hill. If you have any friends having an extra-delicious barbeque this Labor Day, eye them suspiciously.
3. Train Accident at Chestnut Hill West Causes Minor Injuries
A terrible way to start any weekend, five people spent a Friday night in the hospital after a train hit the safety barrier at Chestnut Hill West station.
