A recent modificiation of October Gallery's Artz and Groove Festival's name won't change the event, according to its organizer.
The gallery recently put out posters advertising it as the Mt. Airy Art and Music Festival. But organizer Mercer Redcross said that name is more of a sidebar, and that the Artz and Groove Festival is still its real name.
He said Art and Music Festival is showing up on marketing materials to make it easier for attendees to know what it's going to be about.
"If you say Art and Music Festival, everybody understands," Redcross said.
The event will taken place on June 16 and 17 (setup will take place on the 15th). It will showcase various vendors and artists in the parking lot behind the Sedgwick Theater from 10 to 7 p.m. on both days, and there will be other entertainment inside the nearby 7165 Lounge on Friday and Saturday during the day and night. There will also be indoor events there during the day Sunday.
You can see a full list of all the events on the October Gallery website here.
Redcross also said he's working on getting Acme's parking lot available for people who go to the show. Shuttle buses will also likely be available.
