Looking for a good restaurant to go to this weekend?

Mt. Airy Patch brought you the details of Avenue Bistro! Thursday. A local resident wants to bring real food back to the neighborhood he loves and does so. He is friendly, outgoing and has a super connected network of industry folks. Click here for the Meet the Owner.

If that restaurant isn’t to your liking, check out other area restaurants that Patch reviewed this week:

Hykel’s Submarine Sandwich Bar, 2704 E. County Line Rd., Ardmore

A truly wonderful crock of French onion soup and upside down hoagies await you at this local haunt. The chef always adds a little love to his food and it shows. Click here for the review.

Flip and Bailey’s Bar and Grill, 900 Conestoga Rd., Rosemont

A true neighborhood spot with a killer cheeseburger and $2 Rolling Rocks, this is my kind of place. The Cobb salad was a great source of protein even if the eggs didn’t look so hot. Click here for the review.

The French Bakery, 8624 Germantown Ave., Chestnut Hill

Freshly baked pastries, delightful sandwiches and bottomless cups of coffee are the draws here. The tables aren’t the most private but that’s a small price to pay for such quality goods. Click here for the review.

Taj Indian Cuisine, 265 E. Township Line Rd., Havertown

An all you can eat Indian buffet complete with chai, dessert and freshly baked naan, this place offers you the most bang for your buck. The saag paneer and chana masala were delightful vegetarian options. Click here for the review.

Bala Pizza, 163 Bala Ave., Bala Cynwyd

The Bala Special pizza is one of the greatest things you can eat in Bala Cynwyd. It’s got everything you could possibly want including beef, pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, onions, peppers and olives. Find out more about the man behind the menu, click here for the Meet the Owner.

Brittingham’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, 640 E. Germantown Pk., Lafayette Hill

The service is a bit lackluster but this could be a fun place to watch the Eagles, Phililes or Flyers. The Irish potato skins definitely hit the spot as does the prime rib melt. Click here for the review.

Margaret Kuo’s, 175 E. Lancaster Ave., Wayne

Tasty Chinese and Japanese delights abound at this upscale restaurant. Stop in for some General Tso’s chicken, uni, edamame or just have it all. Click here for the review.

The Ugly Moose, 443 Shurs Ln., Manayunk

Excellent beer list, delicious steak, pasta and salmon entrees as well as valet parking make this place an ideal destination any day of the week. The carrot cake will have you postponing your diet another day. Click here for the review.

Baxter’s, 82 E. Lancaster Ave., Paoli

The lamb chops are the star of the show here while other menu items pale in comparison. The bottomless bloody Mary Sunday brunch does sound fantastic though. Click here for the review.
