Newsworks: Resident Beaten On West Durham Street

Huntly Collins was attacked after leaving the gym.

A Mt. Airy resident was attacked on the 100 block of West Durham Street on Tuesday after leaving a swim class at FitLife, according to a report on Newsworks.

Huntly Collins, who was a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and is now an assistant professor in LaSalle University's Communications Department, was assaulted by two people, who beat her on her head and back. After she screamed, according to the report, the men ran away.

Here is Collins' official LaSalle bio.

Beatings on the street in Mt. Airy are relatively rare—compared to the number of break-ins that take place—but they do happen.

Collins was able to return to class the next day, according to the report.
