Recycle Electronics in the Northwest

An upcoming event will allow residents to recycle in Chestnut Hill.

Electronics recycling is coming to the Northwest, at least for a day.

Weavers Way community programs and Valley Green Bank are hosting an electronic recycling event in Chestnut Hill on Saturday, January 12. The event will accept any electronic item that has a plug, according to a release from Weavers Way.

Those bringing items to recycle are asked to provide small donations to help benefit the co-op. Suggested donations are as follows:

  • $1 for small items (cell phones, keyboards)
  • $5 for medium items (laptops, fax machines)
  • $10 for large or heavy items (TVs, monitors)

The event will be held, rain or shine, in the parking lot of the Valley Green Bank building in Chestnut Hill at 23 W Highland Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Just to be clear, donations made at this event go to Weavers Way Community Programs and support the Weavers Way Environment Committee's grants for environmental programs. WWCP is a separate organization from Weavers Way Co-op, and is a nonprofit, which means your donation may be tax deductible in full or in part.
