The five people who were arrested in connection with drug activity on the 500 block of West Sedgwick Street are scheduled to appear in city municipal court Wednesday.

Warren Layre, Brian Timer, Thomas Basara, Cecelia Silverwood and James McIntyre were arrested June 23 on felony charges of manufacturing, intending or possessing with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance.

Police have said the five were involved in a methamphetamine operation at 529-35 W. Sedgwick St.

The city District Attorney's office has sealed off the garage. Earlier, police said they collected $263,100 worth of crystal methamphetamine, $560 worth of steroids and $389,244 in cash from inside the structure.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for the five people who were arrested. The hearing was originally scheduled for Aug. 15 but was continued on that date.
