Police Blotter: XBox Stolen in Craigslist-Related Theft
The following information was supplied by the Philadelphia Police Department. The arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.
Here's 14th Police District news from the past week or two. All of the following allegations have been documented according to information provided by police:
Woman attacked: Police said a man approached a woman on the unit block of East Phil-Ellena Street Monday and told her to give him her purse. Nothing, however, was taken.
Man stabbed: A man told police a woman stabbed him in the arm on the unit block of East Johnson Street Monday. The woman was stopped by police, they said, but didn't have a weapon. The man was transported to Roxborough Memorial Hospital, according to police.
Copper drain pipe taken: Police said a woman told them a copper drain pipe was taken from her house on the 300 block of Wellesley Road. It probably happened Saturday, according to police.
Glass broken at home: A woman said she was at her home on the 7000 block of McCallum Street Saturday when she heard glass break, according to police. When she went to see what happened, she saw a window had been pried open, police said. They also said nothing specific was taken.
Bicycle taken: Police said a man told them a 10-speed bicycle was removed from the front porch of his home Friday on the 7100 block of Bryan Street.
Bluetooth, cards taken: Police said various cards and a Bluetooth were taken from a car on the 100 block of Pelham Road Saturday.
Woman stabbed: A woman told police her daughter in law came to her home on the 300 block of West Mt. Airy Avenue Friday and stabbed her. The woman was taken to the hospital, according to police.
Girlfriend takes items: Police said a woman took a diamond necklace, a chain from her boyfriend's wrist and her boyfriend's cell phone while they were arguing on the 6300 block of Cherokee Street Aug. 22.
Wallet taken: A wallet was taken from a car parked in the FitLife parking lot on Germantown Avenue Saturday after the car's window was broken, according to police.
Items taken from purse: Police said a debit card and other items were taken from a purse that was inside a car on the 100 block of West Washington Lane Saturday.
Wallet, iPod taken: Police said a wallet and iPod were taken from a car on the 6600 block of Ross Street Aug. 24.
Cell phone taken: Police said a cell phone was taken from a counter at Five Star Restaurant on Germantown Avenue Aug. 15.
Craigslist theft: Police said a man met another man on the 100 block of West Gorgas Road Aug. 24 to sell his XBox. When the two men met, though, the prospective buyer pointed a gun at the seller and said "I gotta take this," according to police. He then fled on foot with the XBox toward Gorgas Lane, police said.
Card goes missing: A woman told police she noticed her bank card was missing from her purse Aug. 22 on the 6600 block of Germantown Avenue, according to police, and saw several transactions had been conducted with the card without her knowledge.
