Police Blotter: Attacked on the Way Home from Wawa
The following information was supplied by the Philadelphia Police Department. The arrests or charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.
Here's 14th Police District news from the past week or two. All of the following allegations have been documented according to information provided by police:
Aggravated Assault: On August 19, a man who had been walking home from Wawa at 11:05pm on the 700 block of Boyer Street told police that he noticed a pair of men age 16-20 following him, one in a gray shirt and shorts and the other a tall man in a blue polo shirt and a gold watch. The men then punched the victim in the face, and when he fell, began to kick him on the ground. They went through his pockets and took his house keys, cell phone, and $15. The victim suffered a lump on his forehead, a bloody nose and scraped arms.
Sexual Assault: at 12am on August 14 on the 600 block of E. Durham Street, the victim told police that she had been raped in January 1995 by an acquaintance who assaulted her and then let her go into the bathroom. When she emerged, the perpetrator was gone.
Taser Taken: A woman told police that a man 21-25 years old punched her in the face on the 6600 block of Chew Avenue at 12pm on August 13. The perpetrator would not let her leave the site and took $30 and a taser from her. The man was later apprehended by police, positively ID’d by the victim, and placed in custody.
Kitchen Knife Stolen: A woman told police that her ex-boyfriend came to her home on the 6300 block of Chew Avenue at 12:55am on August 16, and knocked at the front door until he gained entry. He then removed a knife from the kitchen and fled on foot.
