It seems unlikely that anyone would think the speed limit in Chestnut Hill is over 100 miles an hour.
Still, this small act of graffiti could be seen a few different ways. Is this a harmless prank, or part of larger problem to be address?
What do you think? Is this a mark on Northwest Philly or just a little piece of civic pride?

Please explain why you thought this might be an example of civic pride? Aside from the obvious fact that it is legally vandalism, what would be funny about someone tearing through a residential street, maybe with children playing, and claiming that the sign said the speed limit was 215 mph?

This seems to be a prank by some kids. Unless there are other incidences of graffiti around Chestnut Hill, this is probably just an isolated thing.

The sign is an unfortunate manifestation of the lack of respect and pride some people have for our community. Graffiti vandalism hurts us all as described at www.DefacingAmerica.com , and graffiti markings are anything but funny.

An aspect of vandalism is frequently present in authentic street art, and I read this particular instance as a quirky, largely innocent, witty creative act. Calm down people, it's not a crime wave; it's an inside joke for locals and 215ers.
