New Restaurant Plans to Move Into Groben's Location
'The Personal Chef Seafood Market & Restaurant' hopes to open soon.
A new catering service and restaurant could soon be moving into the location that formerly housed Groben's Seafood.
The restaurant, called "The Personal Chef Seafood Market & Restaurant," is planning on moving into the vacant space at 6833 Germantown Ave. soon, according to its website.
There's no word on when that opening might be. Owner Sharon Pierce didn't return a call seeking comment, but she said on her website that this would be her catering company's first restaurant. The Personal Chef has done separate catering for events in the past.
It will feature "dine-in or take-out, fresh & prepared seafood, along with fresh salads, soups, vegetarian dishes, as well as great pastries & desserts," Pierce wrote in a Mt. Airy Patch announcement.
Groben's closed in February after 135 years in business and has remained vacant ever since.
The phone number of the new business will be 267-331-6928.
