A sign advertising the new Malt House, a craft beer store coming to the corner of Emlen Street and West Mt. Pleasant Street, has been up on a storefront there for quite some time now.

Malt House has a website with a phone number. It advertises its hours as noon to 8 p.m. on weekdays; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. Its calendar says it is having "Brew Your First Beer" workshops on May 15 and June 2. And its voicemail says the store will open in March 2012.

That final nugget didn't prove to be true. The store is certainly still closed, and signs on the windows say "Coming Soon" (you can see them at right).

"Malt House," the sign says. "Gifts for craft brew lovers."

Posts on Philadelphia Speaks, a city neighborhood forum, seem to indicate it will be a home brew supply store.
