New Clothing Store Coming to Avenue in June

Doc C Custom Clothier will take over the former Be Sure Girl space.

A new men's clothing store is scheduled to come to Germantown Avenue in June.

A sign on the door of 7150 Germantown Ave. says Doc C Custom Clothier is coming into the building that previously housed Be Sure Girl Unique Boutique.

That boutique closed late last year, and the space has been vacant since then.

Doc C's website says the clothier offers custom clothing and footwear. Shirts, ties and accessories are available.

The sign says the store will open June 1. Soon afterward, according to the website, Conrad by Doc C will launch. That division of the company will offer a variety of other suits and shoes.

Hope Doc D clothing makes it longer than a year. Now Doc C, vacant for a few months prior, before that the girly boutique for less a one year. Before that for one year, the doggie paws place which moved to Glenside/Abington. Before that, vacancy for about one year after a 10-year stint by an auto/notary public guy, Jimmie. Jimmie used to run Reese's auto tags at the corner of Durham and the Ave and then Reese's folded. Dan Compton, Auto Insurance, then hired Jimmie to run his branch office at the new Doc C place, where he was responsible for all tags/ registrations/ title transfers, etc., but not the car insurance part. Good luck Doc C and hope you find a resting place in Mt.Airy that lasts longer than a year!
