McMenamin's "One of Philly's Best Bars"
The Mt. Airy pub made the cut as one of the city's best bars.
McMenamin's in Mt. Airy was recently named one of Philadelphia's top 50 bars, according to a poll done by Foobooz.
The website called the bar "one of the best choices out there" for "watching sports and eating wings," and praised its "great beer and inventive food."
Perhaps more tellingly, the Mt. Airy drink spot was the only bar in the Northwest to make the list.

It is a good pub but they have bad customer service policies. If you are meeting three friends for dinner they all have to be there to get a table- I think that is rude so I go elsewhere. Staff is nice to regulars but always seem hassled but their serving efforts.

It may be a good bar but not for DWB (drinking while black), I have stopped in twice each incident seperated by a few years, both times I was ignored by the bartender as he served others who came in after me. After bringing this to his attention he became abrasive. I left and refuse to patronize this slice of Alabama in northwest. Philly

We've been regulars at Mc's for years, and have ALWAYS been treated VERY well! I was born & raised in GA, and certainly know bigotry when I meet it. NEVER met it at Mc's, and we've always been BLACK, too! Love the place, the food, and the staff!

point being that they pick and choose so as a consumer you should pick and choose where you spend your cash... too many personalities at mcmen's, so easy to go elsewhere!!.
