Man Robs Citizens Bank on Stenton Avenue

Police said he made off with an unspecified amount of cash.

A man robbed a Citizens Bank at the corner of Stenton Avenue and East Washington Lane Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the man presented a note to the teller at the bank at 6324 Stenton Ave. at about 2:50 p.m. demanding money. Once he was given the money—the amount of which police said was unspecified—he fled westbound toward Ogontz Avenue.

The bank is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The man, according to police, was about 5'7" and had a scruffy beard. Police said he was wearing a light green hat, was wearing a white T-shirt and was carrying a red bandana.

Anyone with information on bank robberies such as this one is generally asked to contact the Philadelphia Police Department or the FBI at 215-418-4000.
