Drivers who use Lincoln Road to get to and from the Northwest will have to find a different route on Saturday.

According to a release from the city's Streets Department, Lincoln Drive will be closed between Ridge Avenue/Kelly Drive and Wissahickon Avenue from 7 a.m to 5 p.m. on Nov 17 for "safety work."

Southbound Lincoln Drive traffic will be blocked at Wissahickon Drive. A marked detour will carry traffic to the end of Lincoln Drive at Ridge Avenue by way of Walnut Lane.

Northbound traffic will be blocked at all entrances to the south end of Lincoln Drive. No detour is provided for northbound traffic due to the numerous entrances. Suggested alternate roadways are Walnut Lane or Schoolhouse Lane.

Construction is expected to be done by 5 p.m. Saturday.
