Sandy Won't Stop Halloween in Mt. Airy
The flashlight parade will continue as scheduled.
It'll take more than a hurricane to stop Halloween in Mt. Airy.
Despite downed trees in the area, the schedule Flashlight Parade in West Mt. Airy will occur, as planned, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
"The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Henry School Yard," Bill Morak, a representative for the Carpenter's Woods Town Watch said in an email Tuesday. "We will travels around that block, Greene to Sedgwick to Sherman to Carpenter and back to the school yard."
Traditionally, children would trick-or-treat in the area after the parade.
The neighborhood watch isn't the only group pushing for Halloween. Laura Margolies of West Mt. Airy Avenue, says she's looking forward to trick-or-treaters.
"The unit block of West Mt. Airy Avenue will be open for a big Halloween night," she said. "We are definitely planning on having families come."
