Gun Reported Stolen from Chestnut Hill Home

The following information is provided by the Philadelphia Police Department.

 

A Chestnut Hill resident reported that their gun was stolen while moving into a new apartment in December, according to a release from the Philadelphia Police Department.

According to reports, the resident hired a moving company to help movie his belongings into a new apartment on the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue on Nov 30. The resident stated that after the move, he noticed that several items, including his firearm, were missing from the house. Attempts to contact the moving company have gone unanswered.

Among the missing items reported are a silver and black Sauger .38 cal handgun, two iPhones, an iPod and a checkbook.

The estimated value of all the stolen items is $1,600.

The gun should not have been one of the items made available. That is nothing short of being very irresponsible. Now a life will be cut short because of someone that is clearly not responsible enough to have a gun permit. There should be some type of hefty fine for not securing a firearm and their permit should be revoked permanently.
