The first edition of Moonlight Movies in Mt. Airy was canceled Friday due to the weather.
A rain location, Cliveden, is required to be notified by 5 p.m. (the outdoor movie series starts at 8:30 p.m. on Fridays on the Lovett library branch lawn, and food trucks serve up dishes before then). But that didn't end up taking place this time around.
"Princess Bride" was scheduled to be shown Friday night. That movie was supposed to be shown during last year's edition of Moonlight Movies but was canceled several times due to rain and eventually wasn't shown at all. It appears its bad luck continued Friday night.

A lot of us were disappointed when we went to Cliveden for the movie but found it dark. The sponsors should get their act together.
