Dr. Mendlow Brings State of the Art Dentistry to Chestnut Hill

Restorative dental care for the community

On the 8500 block of Germantown Avenue sits a historic building that pre-dates the Revolutionary war, but for the past 34 years it has been home to the innovative dentistry of Dr. Michael L. Mendlow.

Mendlow had dreams of being a dentist since his early childhood.

“A friend of my father was a dentist, I really admired who he was in the community and the type of work he did,” said Mendlow.

The Pittsburgh native arrived in Philadelphia in 1974 to attend Temple University’s School of Dentistry and has been in the area ever since. After graduation he began to look around the area for a location that would fit the type of dentistry he wanted to perform.

“I try to do higher end, higher quality restorative treatments,” explained Mendlow, “so I wanted to come to an area where I thought that people would be interested in that type of treatment and that is how I ended up in Chestnut Hill.”

Today, his practice still continues to offer restorative dentistry to both adults and children in the community. According to Dr. Mendlow, restorative dentistry includes anything from regular fillings, restoration of broken or fractured teeth that may need crowns or bridge work and implants for people with missing teeth.

“Not that there aren’t other quality practitioners in the area, but I think that what we try to do with our practice is essentially treat patients the way we would be to be treated if the roles were reversed and we were the patients,” said Dr. Mendlow. “I think people in the community appreciate that.”

excellent dentist...i am very fussy when it comes to my teeth. I go four times a year for cleaning, I am not a young guy anymore and I want to keep what I have. They all do a wonderful job and care about the quality of their work.

Can not go wrong with Dr. M.
