The first step in the redevelopment of the Chestnut Hill Farmer's market is underway.

According to a release from the market, the farmer's market will undergo a name change, sampling its title to "MARKET."

"Many people love the original Chestnut Hill Farmer's Market but we know there is a new niche market for customers who are looking for something special and varied," owner Ron Pete said in a release. "'MARKET' will serve the community by providing an opportunity for local producers and artisans to intrude their products to the public."

Additionally, the redevelopment is slated to include extended house and community events.

The complete project is projected to be finished in Spring 2013.
