The incident at Kim's Market happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

A burglar tried to break into Kim's Market on Chew Avenue through a hole in the store's roof early Sunday morning before eventually being caught and arrested, according to police.

Police said they observed a man putting a ladder up on the store's roof and requested ladder service as a result.

They eventually caught up with the man on the rooftop and saw that he had entered the store through a hole on top of the building.

The man had already taken $800 in cash, as well as cigarettes, blunts and a video recorder. Those items were recovered.

Police said they arrested the man soon afterward. The incident took place at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
